Oregon Player Wins $328.5 Million Powerball Jackpot
A lucky Oregon player has made history as the first Powerball jackpot winner of 2025, winning Saturday’s drawing a whopping $328.5 million, according to lottery officials.
The winner may take an annuitized prize of $328.5 million or opt for a one-time cash payment of $146.4 million, amounts before taxes.
The jackpot resets to $20 million for the next drawing, scheduled to be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11 p.m. ET, after this Powerball jackpot win.
The past year recorded nine jackpot winners in the Powerball with a historic win of $1.3 billion shared among three winners in Oregon, one being a cancer survivor. Most recently, a New York ticket in December won the jackpot at $256 million.
The winning numbers for Saturday’s drawing were:
Powerball: 23 and Power Play: 2X
Aside from the jackpot winner in Oregon, there is a Michigan player who matched the five numbers plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize.
Playing Powerball is easy:
1. **Buy a Ticket**: Tickets are $2 each and can be purchased from convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, as well as some airport terminals. In some states, tickets can be ordered on the web.
2. **Select Your Numbers**: Choose five white balls numbers from 1 through 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 through 26.
